Here I sit on a Sat. morning trying to get my coupons together and I was looking thru the Target sale ad and came across a box of 30 Quaker Chewy bars for $4.99. That sounded like a great price and I was going to Target anyway today and I have a $.55 off coupon, so when I broke it down to unit pricing, here's what I discovered....
Target:
30 count $4.99
minus $.55 coupon
= $4.44
now divide that by 30 for price per bar and that's 15cents per bar. pretty good, huh? well when I broke it down using Kroger's ad, here's what I figured out...
Kroger:
10 count $1.49
minus the same $.55 off coupon
= $.94 divided by 10 and that comes out to 9cents per bar!!!
multiply that times 3 to equal the 30 count box at Target and the SAME 30 bars are $2.82 at Kroger!!! That will save me $1.62!
so lesson learned...ALWAYS break deals down to unit pricing! You may be surprised!
